Burleson: NFC Special Teams Player of Month

"..Burleson stepped in as the punt returner for the Nov. 6 game against the Oakland Raiders. The following week, he broke a 90-yarder for a touchdown against the St. Louis Rams. For the month, he averaged a conference-best 13.8 yards on 14 returns.

He added kickoff return duties for the final game of the month, and had a 45-yarder to set up a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers among his five returns for a 25.8-yard average.

What special teams coach Bob Casullo appreciated is Burleson made sure everyone in the meeting room knew they were sharing in the honor.

"All I've got to do is catch the ball and run," Burleson said. "These guys are blocking. That's tougher than running with the ball. So I appreciate those guys believing in the system, and believing in me."

This is the first time a Seahawk has won the monthly special teams award since former punter Jeff Feagles in December 1999..." (Seattle Times, 12/9/06)
